CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF OREGON

CAPITOL CHAPTER

GOSPEL

Have you heard the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ?

The Gospel:-- The Creator of the universe and all that is in it loves you and wants you to know Him. He is holy, meaning that He is set apart from all else and especially from sin. He is just, meaning that He must judge sin. (Genesis 1:1, John 3:16, Leviticus 19:2, Deuteronomy 32:4)

--All men are sinners. This includes you. Sin is anything we think, say, or do, that goes against God. We are born in sin with a sin nature, meaning that we have a natural propensity to commit sin rather than righteousness. The punishment for even the 'smallest' sin is death. (Romans 3, Psalms 51:5, Romans 6:23)

--God gave Jesus Christ, God the Son, as the substitute for our punishment. Jesus is perfect. When He died on the Cross, He paid the punishment that we deserve for sin. He rose again three days later conquering death and proving His claim as Savior of the world. He is now preparing a place in Heaven for all who believe in Him. (Romans 5:8, Hebrews 9:22, 1 John 2:1-2, John 14:6, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, John 14:2-3)

--All, who believe on Jesus Christ as their Savior, will be saved from their sin and enter into a relationship with God through Christ. Anyone who does not believe will receive the punishment he deserves for his sin-death. Salvation is the gift of God to all who believe by faith; anyone can receive it and no one can earn it. Have you believed on Jesus as your Savior? (Acts 16:31, John 1:12, John 3:36, John 20:31, Ephesians 2:8-9)

--Once you have believed on Jesus as your Savior, you have the joy of knowing Christ more, serving Him, and seeing Him work in you. When you sin He will forgive you; He has promised to never leave you or forsake you-He will always be with you. (2 Peter 3:18, 1 John 1:9, Hebrews 13:5-6, Philippians 1:6, 2:13, Romans 12:1-2)
